Trueinch keeps what it needs to build your homes and show them to you, and nothing else. We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and you can delete any of it, or your whole account, from the app at any time.
What we keep
- Your account. Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code (or through Google, if you sign in with it), and the name you give us. When you ask for a report from our front page, your account is made then, with the email you gave, so the report can be sent to you; it is yours the first time you sign in with that email.
- What you tell us when you arrive. Your country, the units you read sizes in, what brings you to Trueinch, what you want to see first, the place you're looking in, and how you heard of us. Your country decides the furniture sizes and building standards your homes are built to; the place is where new homes are taken to be for their sun and weather. You can change any of it in Settings.
- Your homes. The drawings you upload, everything we build from them (the plan, the 3D home, its furniture, its sunlight and airflow), the changes you make, and the questions you ask about them with their answers. The products you bring in from stores are kept with the home they are in: the link, what the store's page says of the product (its name, sizes, price), its photo and the 3D model built from it, or the screenshot you dropped instead.
- Your homes' reports, and the links you share them by. Each True Inch Report as it was made, and each version of it. Anyone with a link you make can read that report and walk through its home without signing in: it shows the city, never the address, calls the home by the name you give the link, and shows the drawing you uploaded only if you say so. We count how often each link is opened, and never show you who opened it; a link you turn off shows nothing from then on. The email that tells you a report is ready carries a link of its own, so the report opens without signing in; you can turn it off like any other.
- What you've used. How many drawings, questions and simulations you've run each day, to keep within the day's limits, and what each piece of work cost us in AI models and computing.
- How you use Trueinch. The pages you open, the steps of the form on our front page, when you open a report, the sections you reach and how long you read it, when you save it as a PDF or share it, and when you open a home in 3D and the tools you use there. Where you first came from too: the website, or the tags on a link we sent you. We keep this ourselves, to see what helps people and what doesn't, and to make Trueinch better; it is never sold, shown to anyone else, or used for advertising.
- What you think. The stars, reasons and comments you give a report, if you choose to: on the report itself, or from the one email that asks, once you have read it.
- In your browser. Your sign-in session, your own preferences (light or dark, units, what the model shows), and a random number that tells your visits apart, in your browser's local storage; a drawing you drop on the front page before signing in, for up to an hour, until it is uploaded. We use no cookies, no advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics.
Who helps us run Trueinch
These companies process data for us, only to provide Trueinch:
- Supabase keeps accounts, the database and your files (in Canada).
- Render runs our servers and serves the website (in the United States).
- OpenAI reads your drawings and helps answer your questions (in the United States). It receives the drawings, the questions, and the store pages, photos and screenshots of products you bring in, not your name or email. Under its API terms it doesn't train its models on them.
- Resend sends our emails to your address: the sign-in codes, your report when it's ready, and the one that asks what you thought of it.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- OpenStreetMap's Nominatim finds a place you search for. Our server sends it only the words you searched.
- PVGIS, the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, gives an area's typical year of weather. When you ask for it, our server sends the area, rounded to about 55 km.
When you bring in a product, our server reads that product's page and photos once from the store's website, as a link preview does. The store sees our server asking, and nothing about you.
How long we keep it
Your homes stay until you delete them, and your account until you delete it. Deleting a home removes its drawing, everything built from it, and the questions asked about it. Deleting your account removes all of your homes and everything in them, the AI's answers your work produced, what you told us, and the account itself, within a minute. Records of what your work cost us are kept, with no link to you. How you used Trueinch is kept for 13 months, then deleted.
Our hosting providers keep their own records of requests to our servers (the time, the address and the outcome) for a short time, to keep the service running and safe.
Your choices
- See and change what you told us: Settings, in the menu under your initial.
- Delete a home: its menu on your homes page.
- Delete your account and everything in it: Settings, then Delete my account.
- A copy of your data, or a question about it: write to ceo@trueinch.com.
Wherever you live, we give you these rights: to know what we keep, to correct it, to delete it, and to take a copy.
Children
Trueinch isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep their data. If you think a child has an account, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
When we change this page, we change its date above. If a change matters to how your data is used, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
